On November 14, 2024, Datagai Academy through its Analytics and Research predicted " a massive catastrophic landslides within 25 days, issuing a red alert for residents and travelers in hilly regions and near dams" . Their prediction was tragically validated by the following events:
Indonesia (North Sumatra): Within 10 days of our prediction, on November 23-24th 2024 we observed heavy rainfall triggering landslides in Karo, North Sumatra, burying homes and vehicles. Over 27 fatalities were reported, and rescue operations were hampered by the challenging conditions.
Indonesia (West Java): In another event, on November 26, 2024, heavy rains caused a separate landslide in the Sukabumi region of West Java, Indonesia. This disaster claimed 15 lives and displaced dozens of families as entire settlements were engulfed by mud and debris.
Uganda (Bulambuli District): On November 28, 2024, landslides struck six villages in Bulambuli, eastern Uganda, following continuous heavy rains. The disaster destroyed 125 homes, affected 50 acres of land, and resulted in at least 20 confirmed deaths, with over 100 people reported missing.
